I am looking to build my own 4L80e. I have not built one yet but have done a few th350 and th400's years ago. Anyhow what all aftermarket internal parts are recommended for building a 4l80e that can handle up to 800hp? I am aware of the different controllers and converters but i am unfamiliar with whats really needs to be beefed up internally ...

Really, if you have a 98 and earlier 3.8L, you should seriously consider upgrading to the 99+ heads and manifold. There are 40HP in that alone. So assuming you have a 99+ 3.8L V6, your base is 190HP. All the power stuff makes it really nice. Especially the cruise for me. Adding more power is very simple. However, if the Allison can only handle another 80-90 hp without damage. A 4L80E would probably self destruct in short order with another 90 hp and additional torque. I think it's the added torque that would kill it.
