Apr 5, 2016 · 89. 98. Long Beach, CA. Oct 8, 2021. #1. I went to a J1772 charger in Hollywood, CA last night. Plugged into a J1772 Level 2 charger using my adapter. When I went to unplug, the adapter refused to separate from the cable. No amount of force (even two people trying to pull the adapter apart from the charger cable) would remove the two pieces.
It fits in a small hole in the charger head release button. Putting a padlock there SHOULD prevent someone from stealing the adapter from your car (see photo below). Have the Lectron adapter and it's great, don't use it much but nice to have! Charging right now with it and pulling in 9 kW/h from a destination charger. Have only used it a handful of times but never had an issue.
